Collection: C. Charley | Navajo Artist

C. Charley was born in 1972 in Crownpoint, New Mexico. He developed a fascination for silversmithing by watching his uncle, Raymond King. At eighteen, he began his career as a silversmith, teaching himself the tools and techniques he had seen his uncle use to create award-winning jewelry. Now a master of various silver working and design styles, Chris holds a special preference for the traditional Navajo method of stamp work. His stamped silver pieces are known for their crispness, refinement, and expressiveness. Through these traditional designs and techniques, Chris feels deeply connected to his tribe's cultural history and the “old ways.” Chris Charley thrives on staying busy. When he isn't at his workbench crafting a wide range of traditional and contemporary silver jewelry for his growing clientele, this Navajo artist can often be found refining his skills in sand painting or pottery. When he does take a break from his artistic pursuits, you'll likely find him on the basketball court, passionately working on his jump shot with the same dedication he brings to creating exquisite rings and bracelets.
